At the heart of Les Ballons des Vosges regional park, our hotel spa is the perfect place to stay to discover this vast region with its exceptional landscapes. Covering almost 3,000 km², it is home to an incredible range of natural environments: verdant valleys, majestic forests, high altitude forests, peatlands, rivers, lakes, glacial cirques... start your visit along the Route des Crêtes way. This ancient strategic road is now the perfect route to discover the Vosges mountains. Make your way up to Le Storkenkopf (1,366 m) or Le Grand Ballon (1,424 m) for peerless views of the Vosges and the Alps. At the top of Le Grand Ballon, you will find a circular orientation table to help you locate major towns and cities nearby: Mulhouse, Colmar, Basel…

Then, explore the many streams and rivers which criss-cross the park, sometimes turning into torrents. Right by Gérardmer, a charming footpath will lead you up to Mérelle waterfall and Saut de la Bourrique, an impressive, 10 m high waterfall. And don’t forget to also visit the nearby Retournemer, Tendon, Bouchot and Rudlin waterfalls. Each one offers the spectacle of a wild and perfectly preserved natural environment. Then, head to Machais, 10 km to the south-east of Gérardmer, to discover the largest floating peatland in the Vosges massif. Finally, take a moment to visit a few of the cultural icons of the park: Saint-Dié cathedral, Notre-Dame d'Autrey abbey, the Peuple de Bussang theatre…
